Pitaya also known as dragonfruit a tropical fruit native of Central America, is the fruit of a huge cactus, which has become very popular in the South – East Asia . Pitaya surprisingly rich in antioxidants and vitamins such as calcium , phosphorus, iron and vitamin C strengthens the immune system . Contains only 60 calories per 100 grams of fruit .
Pitaya is one of my favorite tropical fruits. You ask me why? It’s so boring! It doesn’t have much taste as mango or pineapple. But it working great in combination. I like mix pitaya with berries, coconut and banana. It’s best way to add freshness to your smoothie dessert or cake. And this amazing pink color! If you buy a pink-fleshed pitaya, your smoothies will have a vibrant, beautiful color.
